Based on the information you provided, your application may present some issues that are best addressed by an attorney. We are happy to put you in contact with a qualified immigration attorney who can address your concerns and advise you on your best path forward.
We have negotiated a special, one-hour consultation fee with a licensed immigration attorney. Your consultation will be confidential, and subject to the attorney-client privilege. Formasio will not be involved in that communication, and it will not be privacy to any information that you provide to the attorney.
What should I expect?
The attorney will first review the forms and questions that you have submitted to Formasio. This will give the attorney a general sense for your case. Then, the attorney will reach out to you via phone or email, at a mutually-convenient time, to introduce themselves. At that time, the attorney will ask for some or all of the following documents prior to your appointment:
A copy of the form you filled in at Formasio.com (Formasio will provide this with your consent);
A copy of your green card;
A copy of your passport;
Any documents you received from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, or from the Executive Office of Immigration Review (immigration court).
During your consultation, the attorney will explain the application process, the interview process, and the document requirements. After your one-hour consultation, it will be at the discretion of the attorney whether to continue communicating with you, but the attorney will not be required to do so. The conversation may be monitored by a supervising attorney for quality-assurance. No non-attorney will have access to the contents of your conversation without your explicit, written consent. Formasio will never ask you to discuss the contents of your attorney-client privileged conversation.
Is this a licensed immigration attorney?
Yes, you will speak with a licensed attorney who has practiced immigration law exclusively for at least five years. Please note that immigration attorneys are not required to be licensed in a particular state in order to practice immigration law, and for this reason the attorney you speak with may not be generally licensed to practice law in your state, but will be permitted to practice immigration law in your state. For this reason, the attorney will only discuss your immigration matter with you, and will not address any other legal questions outside the scope of immigration law.
Can I hire the lawyer?
If the attorney agrees to represent you, you will have the opportunity to discuss retaining their office for your continued representation. Formasio will not be involved in the continued retention of the attorney, or the fees charged.
How much is the consultation?
We have negotiated a special rate of $150 for a one-hour consultation and document review with an immigration attorney. You have the option to conclude the consultation sooner than one hour, but no refunds will be issued for consultations that commence and last longer than five minutes. Consultations that last less than five minutes may be eligible for a partial refund.
